LYNY, aka Alec Leinhauser's growth as an artist has been inescapable and he's only just begun leaving his mark on the scene. He is pushing the boundaries of electronic music by discovering and combining new cutting-edge sounds with melodic compostions. His approach to bass music is heavily influenced by Hip-Hop and trap beats with a splash of R&B. He strives to balance his songs with heart wrenching basslines, arpeggiated melodies, hard hitting drums, and often throws in recongnizable vocal chops. LYNY's skills as a producer and engineer have landed him placements with Tobi Lou, Lox Chatterbox and SVRITE.”

Jameson Rodgers made his name on the road. The hard-touring upstart has spent nearly a decade honing his rowdy live show, whether he’s headlining his own electric sets or opening for the likes of Luke Combs, Florida Georgia Line, Darius Rucker, Sam Hunt, Luke Bryan and many more. A MusicRow Discovery Artist of the Year winner and iHeartRadio Music Awards nominee, Rodgers immortalized his live show on his latest project Live from Oxford, MS, recorded at a sold-out show at The Oxford Theatre. Featuring early career standouts like “Midnight Daydream” plus his back-to-back, Platinum-certified No. 1 hits “Some Girls” and follow-up smash “Cold Beer Calling My Name,” (originally featuring label mate Combs), the collection captures the raucous atmosphere that has become Rodgers’ calling card. Named to breakthrough artist programs including CMA KixStart and Opry NextStage, Rodgers released his debut album Bet You’re From A Small Town in 2021, and recently offered his first taste of new music with the reflective “Things That Matter.” Also an in-demand songwriter, the country traditionalist has co-penned multi-Platinum hits for Florida Georgia Line (Top 10 single “Talk You Out of It”) and Chris Lane (No. 1 smash “I Don’t Know About You”), plus deep cuts for Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Jon Pardi, and more.

With the proceeds earned, ARM will be providing first responders the trauma informed tools for supporting themselves and the individual's they support.

Authentic Revival Movement retrains the body’s stress response to help individuals feel more able to cope with stress in both their personal and public life, and feel more like their authentic self in their day to day life. Trauma is experienced by everyone at some point in their life, but not everyone knows to label it as such. However, we are not taught in our society to work through that stress. This is where ARM steps in.

In a time when the popular choice is to chase the double yellow line down the road to country radio, Boy Named Banjo thrives on its fringes. The Nashville-raised five-piece is a fusion of contemporary country, Americana and folk-rock stacked on a foundation of bluegrass. The band, which has been together in some iteration since members were in high school, includes Barton Davies (banjo), Ford Garrard (bass/standing bass), Sam McCullough (drums) Willard Logan (mandolin, acoustic/electric guitar) and William Reames (acoustic guitar/harmonica). Reames and Logan played in a middle school garage rock band together, but it wasn't until Reames met Davies in high school that Boy Named Banjo started taking shape. Garrard and McCullough joined later and together the five guys comprise the band Boy Named Banjo that we know today. Boy Named Banjo has crafted a sound that incorporates an energetic blend of country, bluegrass, alt-rock, and folk-pop telling their stories through an honest, emotional, roots-driven perspective. In April 2020, Boy Named Banjo signed a record deal with Mercury Records Nashville and released their debut EP, Circles, the following year. The band is currently in the studio writing and recording new music as well playing some of country music’s largest festivals.

A country-music purist whose style carries on an original American art form – with all its highs and lows included – Randall King is something of a study in contrast, and his album is too. He often sounds like he just stepped out of a time machine, full of upbeat honky-tonk swagger and flashing the thoughtful gaze of Western poet. But he’s also got a thoroughly modern edge, driven to prove timeless tradition can co-exist with the pop-country mainstream. And it all comes together on Shot Glass. Inspired by everyone from George Strait and Keith Whitley to Dierks Bentley and Eric Church, King grew up on the endless plains and endless highways of a mythical place in the American story – but its famous ways were never mere fantasy to him. The hardscrabble days, wild nights and heartbreaks were all just part of an everyday cycle, and his music continues to capture that mystique.

Often in country music, artists leave their small hometowns with big stories to tell -- in singer-songwriter Tyler Booth's case, those stories are his very own. From supporting some of the genre's top stars including Joe Diffie, Brooks and Dunn, Dwight Yoakam, and Josh Abbott either in the studio or on the show bill to building a grass-roots fan base across the nation with nothing but a rigged-up home studio and workhouse attitude, the 25-year-old singer has already lived a life worth writing songs about. Born and raised in the rule-class city of Campton, Kentucky, Booth always knew he wanted to be a singer. Musically, he grew up in a house divided -- while his dad was managing a local rock group fronted by his uncle, down the road and ""up the holler,"" his grandparents were spinning Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson records. Originally, the young entertainer went the way of his old man. After ""finally getting a guitar tuned"" at 12 years old, he mastered a few power chords and sat in on his uncle's band rehearsal. One year later, a chance listen to Jamey Johnson's hit, ""High Cost Of Living,"" sent Booth down a country music rabbit hole. From that point on, in a town where everybody knew everybody, he became famous for his baritone and songwriting chops. With new music due soon, the entertainer will continue to make a splash in country music led by his captivating live performance, clever lyrics, and his drawling and rich country vocal, backing The Music Universe’s claim: “I’ve been hearing country music needs saved. Well, our hero is here, y’all.”

Flatland Cavalry is breaking out into a gallop. After years of hot trotting across their native Texas, the country outfit is primed for a breakout with the release of their third full-length album, the sonically sprawling and wistfully written Welcome to Countryland. The Texas sextet--bandleader and chief lyricist Cleto Cordero, guitarist Reid Dillon, bassist Jonathan Saenz, drummer Jason Albers, fiddle player Wesley Hall, and recent newcomer utility instrumentalist Adam Gallegos--continue to embrace their trademark sound while further pushing into the wild unknown. When it was time to embark on recording a new album, resting on their laurels was simply out of the realm of possibilities.

After the release of 2019's critically-acclaimed Homeland Insecurity and their 2016 full-length debut Humble Folks, they’ve been on a healthy trajectory rising through the country ranks. After years of working with Lubbock stalwart Scott Faris in the friendly confines of Amusement Park Studios, Flatland decided a change of scenery was necessary. Despite some hesitation and a mix of emotions, they instantly knew recording at Nashville’s Sound Emporium Studio A with rising producer Jake Gear was the right move. While the roster of collaborative confidants and colleagues (Spencer Cullum, Jim Hoke, Billy Justineau, Hailey Whitters, and Kaitlin Butts) has continued to expand with Flatland's sound stride for stride, Countryland isn't a cut and paste effort with Nashville studio musicians. Rather, it finds the rootsy Texans delivering their A-game due to countless tour runs zig-zagging across the country and becoming seasoned performers and musicians. Since their humble beginnings out in the Panhandle town of Lubbock, Texas, Flatland Cavalry has embraced their surroundings and rural West Texas roots. Formed in 2014 while attending Texas Tech University, Cordero and company made their presence felt within the Hub City's songwriting circles and dancehall circuits. Banking on Cordero's earnest pen and the band's blend of country instrumentation, toe-tapping grooves, and earworm choruses, Flatland quickly became a regional sensation.

Hailing from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Kinky are a five piece electronica outfit, incorporating latin melodies and rhythms, a rock aesthetic and techno beats all tied together with funk grooves into their unique sound. Kinky first came together in 2000, featuring Gilberto Cerezo (vocals/guitar), Ulises Lozano (keyboardist/programmer), Carlos Chairez (guitar), Omar Gongaro (drums) and Cesar Pliego (bassist). The band then set to work developing their live sound, preparing for the annual battle of the bands at the Latin Alternative Music Conference in New York City, US. Kinky impressed, garnering the attention of British producer Chris Allison, who had previously worked with Coldplay, Fila Brazillia and the Wedding Present amongst many others. Allison offered to produce and release their debut album on his label, Sonic 360. From Chicago we are presenting Robot Conciente and Alma Fuerte.

Logan Mize's story began in Kansas. There, his family has been running Mize's Thriftway, a local grocery, for over fifty years. From a young age, Logan worked unloading trucks and carrying groceries. But there was also music in the family –his great uncle Billy Mize was an architect of the '60s Bakersfield Sound –and in the air, leading Logan in a different direction. After two “distracted” years in college, he dropped out and moved to Nashville. “A songplugger heard me at an open mike, invited me to play a song for Brett Jones, a songwriter who ran Wyoming Sky Music, and I had a deal by the end of the day.” While Jones championed Logan and helped shape his songwriting skills, the deal fell apart after ayear. While he dug in on his craft and put his own band together, he worked a slew of jobs to support himself. In 2009, he landed a deal with publisher Big Yellow Dog, and released his first, self-titled album. Over the next decade and three more albums, he scored hit singles with “Ain't Always Pretty” and “Better Off Gone” (which was recently certified Gold by the RIAA), logged over 350 million streams on different platforms, and toured constantly. Mize’s newest album, Welcome to Prairieville, is his mostpersonal work to date. Since the release of this project, he reflects on what he hopes listeners will take away. “I hope listeners have a really good listening experience, and it makes them want to come see my show. I hope it inspires them in some way.”

Kolby Cooper lost his childhood and found his voice. Cooper was 14 when cancer took his dad, and he channeled that painful loss into songwriting. He was 18 with the responsibility of a wife and baby on his shoulders when he used his high school graduation money to record an EP. And now, barely old enough to buy a round for the band, Cooper is pouring his signature blend of scorching break-up anthems and gut-wrenchingly relatable songs into a new record for BBR Music Group. In three short years, Cooper has accomplished what has eluded seasoned Nashville insiders amassing more than 110 million Spotify streams and playing numerous, sold-out show around the country, with thousands of fans singing along to his searing, wry lyrics. Drawn to his unrestrained, fresh sound, Cooper is earning early praise for his rough-hewn velvet vocals, layered over wailing electric guitar, and a buoyant Texas bottom-end. His new record is Country with clear influences from his Lonestar State roots.

BRELAND is a paradox. The Jersey-born-and-raised, feel-good creative force is perhaps the most unlikely and predestined breakout Country star on today’s horizon, where he defines and defies labels by embracing all kinds of music with an exuberance that’s blinding. Employing a strong wash of modern Pop, the double Georgetown Business/Marketing degree’d music obsessive offers the shimmer of Bruno Mars, the slink of Luther Vandross, Drake or Teddy Pendergrass and a couple handfuls of old school dirt floor Southern Gospel interjected into his positive vibe take on modern living and Country music.

One of the most crowd-thrilling bands to burst onto the national scene in recent years, Giovannie and The Hired Guns have pushed the boundaries of rock-and-roll and country to forge an irresistibly gritty sound all their own. After building a massive grassroots following on the strength of their explosive live show, the Stephenville, Texas-based five-piece ascended to new heights with their smash hit “Ramon Ayala”—a 2021 release that climbed to #1 on the Active Rock Radio Chart and the Alternative Radio Chart, marking the first time in over 15 years that an artist’s first career-charting radio single reached the top spot on both tallies. Fueled by the enormous success they’ve achieved as an entirely independent act, Giovannie and The Hired Guns have now signed to Warner Music Nashville just in time for the release of their third full-length, Tejano Punk Boyz: an immediately vital body of work cementing their status as an essential new force in redefining the possibilities of Texas music.

The lawn is freshly cut, the grill is fired up, and the brews are waiting in the garage. You're all set to lounge in your favorite recliner for the night... until you remember you promised Nance you’d take her out. Well, if you’re going to be forced to be social, you might as well see your favorite band in the process… The Midwest's music scene has a new heavyweight contender, and they go by the name of Dad Strength - the band that's lifting the bar on rock and roll. With a name like Dad Strength, you might think this band is all about dad jokes and flannel shirts. But once they hit the stage, it's clear that these dads have serious musical chops. Their live performances are electric, with an energy that could power the entire Windy City. From guitar riffs that will make your hair stand on end to drum solos that will leave you breathless, Dad Strength brings an unmatched level of musicianship to every show. So tuck in your shirt, grab your favorite beer, and get ready to rock with Dad Strength! Dad Strength was formed in 2019, but the roots for the band were planted over a decade ago when singer/guitarist Nick Kirincich and drummer Branden Ferro joined forces as high schoolers to play covers and rock venues all across the southwest Chicago suburbs. Over the years, this dynamic duo continued to play music together and along the way forged alliances with guitarist Nick Brozovich, bassist Chris Bourg, and keyboardist Marc Vertin. The combined skill, experience, and chemistry between these five musicians make Dad Strength stand out among their peers for their fun, energetic, and unique performances. This quintet is available for bars, festivals, and other events to provide the musical muscle that only Dad Strength can flex.

Hello Seahorse! is a Mexican alternative pop band formed in 2005 in Mexico City. The band gained quick recognition as one of the leading acts in Mexican rock pop, placing their first commercial single "Bestia" on regular radio airplay by November 2008. Early releases such as the EP Hoy a las Ocho featured lyrics in both English and Spanish, though latest tracks are solely in the latter; these however deal about nonsense or surrealistic themes. The band's second album Bestia was released on May 19, 2009. The track "Bestia" from that album won the "song of the year" award at Mexico's 2009 "Indie-O Music Awards" ceremony. At the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards Latinoamérica, they were nominated for and won the "La Zona" award. Also in 2009, they were nominated for best alternative song at the Latin Grammy Awards, but they lost to Calle 13. Hello Seahorse! has shared stage with bands such as Beastie Boys, Jarvis Cocker, Clinic and The Killers.

Throw away any preconceived notions you might have about country singers — especially ones from Texas — because Stoney LaRue smashes them all. Over a nearly 20-year career, the Lone Star-born and Oklahoma-raised LaRue has transformed himself into an unlikely Renaissance man. He is a deft songwriter, informed traveler and self-aware philosopher, a troubadour who converses just as easily about Indian yogis and gurus as he does about Texas barbecue and dance halls. LaRue highlights all facets of his complex persona on the inspiring new album Onward.

The title itself is reflective of his outlook on life — if LaRue has a mantra these days, it’s “keep moving forward.” His first album since 2015’s Us Time, Onward captures the husky-voiced singer looking not only ahead, but inward. This is a man unflinchingly shining a light into some dark, uncomfortable corners of his psyche and bettering himself in the process.

“You want to test your bones and see where they break,” he says, dropping one of the many bon mots that pepper his conversation. “This record is wading through all the mud and storms to hopefully come out on the other side with a wisdom that you didn’t have before. It’s a brighter way to look at things.”

Before there can be redemption, though, there must be a conflict, and LaRue dives into that head-first in the album opener “Fallin’ and Flyin’.” One of 10 songs co-written by Onward’s producer Gary Nicholson, the track was famously performed by Jeff Bridges in the 2009 country music drama Crazy Heart. In LaRue’s hands, it’s a humble admission, part of his journey toward self-improvement. “I never meant to hurt no one/I just had to have my way/if there’s such a thing as too much fun/this must be the price you pay,” he sings.

Likewise, he lays bare his soul in “You Oughta Know Me by Now,” a song that Nicholson and his co-writer Shawn Camp wrote especially for LaRue. While it’s framed around a man’s shortcomings and bad habits, it also conveys a precious honesty, like much of the vulnerable Onward does. “Gary told me, ‘You’re getting a chance with this album to show people who you truly are,'” LaRue says. “It might be too blatant for some people, but if you’re that blatantly honest, that’s a direct path to someone’s spirit, you know?”

Forging connections with his fans is paramount for LaRue, who plays more than 200 live shows a year. His base is a fiercely loyal one, and not just within the Red Dirt region. He regularly tours throughout the entire country and has fans in some unexpected places. Chalk up his mass appeal to the way he sells his songs both onstage and on record — to listen to LaRue sing the nostalgic, Bob Seger-esque “Drowning in Moonlight” on Onward is to hear someone with whom you share an experience.

“I thought that song would be something that’s very relatable. You want to think about your first kiss overlooking the city with the top down,” he says. “There’s something so sexy and romantic about that song. It’s dark, but it’s light at the same time.”

LaRue further explores that idea on “Meet Me in the Middle,” a gritty duet about compromise with the legendary Tanya Tucker. “It’s about the idea of reciprocity in a relationship, of yin and yang. You want to think that everything’s supposed to be equal and find the balance, but it never turns out that way, does it? It’s always a shift of power,” he says.

While the bulk of Onward exists in that musical sweet spot of rock and twang for which LaRue has become known, a pair of songs evokes a more Dixieland vibe. “Evil Angel,” featuring the magnificent McCrary Sisters on gospel vocals, is a jaunty barroom piano sing-along, and “Worry Be Gone” — a Nicholson song written with Guy Clark and Lee Roy Parnell — is a New Orleans ode to saying to hell with it all and sparking one up. “We got trouble with the air, we got trouble with the water/ and people ain’t treating one another like they oughta/give me just one more puff of that worry be gone,” LaRue sings.

“It’s all going on around us — from politics to religion — and we think about those things so much that we don’t want to be a part of it,” says LaRue. “As my grandpa used to say, ‘Don’t sweat the petty stuff and don’t pet the sweaty stuff.'”

LaRue pays tribute to his grandparents on Onward by cutting their favorite song: Merle Haggard’s “Let’s Chase Each Other Around the Room.” “They used to dance and drink homemade wine and put on the record,” he recalls. “Of course, us boys would be in there on the piano and the guitars and whatever we could find to make noise with. We’d be just smiling at them, having a blast in their late ages whenever they still could.”

It’s a faithful version of the Haggard and Freddy Powers tune, but one that LaRue still manages to push to the fringe by increasing the tempo and swagger.

Even on the requisite declaration of Texan pride, “Hill Country Boogaloo,” he taps into nontraditional country funk and forgoes lyrical tropes in favor of fresh allusions.

“Everybody throws in Shiner Bock or a ‘Texas wind’ in songs about Texas, but they’re not being specific. There’s too many generalities,” he says. “It’s an homage really. I figured that I’ve been so serious my whole life, let’s take the paint off, see what it looks like bare board and have fun.”

For LaRue, who has sold more than one million albums and singles in his career, fun means being on the road and playing live, tapping into a vast catalogue that includes influential LPs like 2005’s The Red Dirt Album and his exhilarating 2007 live document Live at Billy Bob’s Texas. Now, he’s excited about taking Onward to fans around the country and reminding them that not only is he still here, he isn’t going anywhere.

“You have to be willing to live it. That’s the only way to make it, and the way that I’ve made it,” says LaRue of his remarkable longevity. “But I’m not haphazard in what I’m writing or singing anymore. I’m more focused and looking ahead to what I want to achieve.”

In other words, Stoney LaRue is looking Onward.

McBryde was raised in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, taking to music at the age when most kids were running wild in the backyard, dressing dolls or playing with trains. At three, she’d secretly pluck her father’s guitar like an upright bass, and after about the 17th time being caught, her father bought her a guitar of her own. When she was twelve, she played her parents and grandparents her very first composition. It was at Arkansas State when, while a member of the marching band, McBryde finally started sharing her voice with others – first at karaoke parties, then in a band, and then in Memphis where she’d play a mix of cover and original songs while still commuting from college. When McBryde finally moved to Nashville in 2007, she settled with a friend at an apartment in a building that housed storage units – not the most glamorous of homes, but enough of a place to crash in between a healthy dose of dive bars, biker hangouts, and colorful joints where she fought to have her songs heard. Her first EP, the self-released 2016 Jalopies and Expensive Guitars was just a taste of what McBryde could do, and, on her full-length debut, she melds her songwriting chops with the vision of producer Jay Joyce, peppering her tales with a touch of guitar-driven rock fury – but offering plenty of room for her emotive, vulnerable twang to move softly through songs like “Girl Goin’ Nowhere,” which was written the morning that Guy Clark passed away. McBryde isn’t afraid to tell the truth, get raw and real and use the spirits of country, folk and rock when it serves her greater purpose. McBryde is a 6x GRAMMY nominee, receiving nods for Best Country Album for her major label debut Girl Going Nowhere, follow-up Never Will and Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville, along with Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance for her smash hit “Girl Goin’ Nowhere,” and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” with Carly Pearce, which also marked her first No. 1 single.

With its latest album, “Fortune Favors The Bold,” Russell County, Virginia-based 49 Winchester is ready and roaring to break onto the national scene with its unique brand of tear-in-your-beer alt-country, sticky barroom floor rock-n-roll, and high-octane Appalachian folk.

“As we’ve aged and matured, our sound has gone from a softer place to this grittier, edgier tone that we have now,” says lead singer/guitarist Isaac Gibson. “So, we’re trending more towards being a rock band instead of a country band. But, at the same time, I don’t think anybody’s ever known quite what to call it.”

Although it’s 49 Winchester’s fourth studio album, “Fortune Favors The Bold” marks its debut for Nashville’s New West Records — one of the premier labels for Americana, indie and rock acts on the cutting edge of sound, scope and spectacle.

Formed eight years ago on Winchester Street in the small mountain town of Castlewood, Virginia (population: 2,045), the band started as a rag tag bunch of neighborhood teenagers who just wanted to get together for the sake of playing together.

Aside from Gibson, there’s also his childhood friend, bassist Chase Chafin, alongside other Castlewood cronies — guitarist Bus Shelton, and Noah Patrick on pedal steel.

“From day one, it’s always been a band and it will always be about being a band. This is everything, everything we love about music — we’re going for broke with this thing,” says Gibson. “And that gives us a unique perspective because it’s still the same guys. It’s still all of us from Castlewood traveling around, playing music and making this band a reality — this is a story of growth.”

And it’s that sense of growth — more so, a sense of self — at the core of “Fortune Favors The Bold.” It’s not only a record that showcases the current state of 49 Winchester, it’s a melodic stake in the ground of how this group is constantly evolving and taking shape, sonically and lyrically.

Reflecting on his early days as a jack-of-all-trades stone mason in Castlewood, where it was about trying to make ends meet in an effort to keep 49 Winchester rolling along, Gibson can’t help but be grateful for a well-earned notion at the core of the band’s ethos — anything worthwhile in life is built brick-by-brick.

“Everything has to be built. And very few people are going to achieve success overnight,” says Gibson. “There’s going to be people you see succeed in front of you. Maybe you don’t think they deserve it as much as you, haven’t worked as hard as you, haven’t done it as long as you. But, none of that matters — they ain’t you. They’re not living your life. They’re not part of your experience.”

At its essence, “Fortune Favors The Bold” is about going against all odds to bring your art into fruition and into the world. It’s about leaving your hometown and heading for the unknown horizon. And it’s about proving those wrong who snickered and waited for the day you’d give up somewhere down the line, only to circle back home with your tail between your legs.

But, it’s also about looking into the rearview mirror with a genuine appreciation for where you came from and what you’re made of, those hardscrabble, salt-of-the-earth traits in your blood and character that define what it actually takes to climb that damn mountain of dreams — come hell or high water.

For a band that regularly plays 250 shows a year, there's nothing like coming back home.

‘One To Grow On,’ the eighth studio album from Mike and the Moonpies, is a musical homecoming that returns the group to its roots as a working man's country band. Layered with Telecaster twang, honky tonk harmonies and lyrics that highlight the Everyman's struggle to remain optimistic during a 9-to-5 world, this is organic music for dance halls and car stereos—a soundtrack for the mid-week blues, shot through with weekend energy.

"I wanted to create a record you could crank loudly in your truck on Friday afternoon at quitting time," says frontman Mike Harmeier, who wrote ‘One To Grow On’ in his backyard studio on the outskirts of Austin. "To do that, I developed a narrative and a central character. It's a guy who's working hard to make ends meet, all while living in the moment and hoping to stay appreciative of the things he has. A guy who takes pride in what he does but is still searching for a balance in his life. There are a lot of similarities between him and me.

"For more than a decade, Harmeier and his band of hard-touring road warriors—pedal steel player Zach Moulton, guitarist Catlin Rutherford, bassist Omar Oyoque along with new drummer Taylor Englert —have traveled far beyond their Austin homeland, flying the flag for homegrown Texas music in more than a dozen countries. They've become global ambassadors of a blue-collar country sound, striking a balance between timeless influences and cool, contemporary appeal. Along the way, they've stretched their legs, following the breakthrough success of 2018's Steak Night at the Prairie Rose with records like 2019's Cheap Silver & Solid Country Gold (an album inspired by the classic countrypolitan hits of the early 1970s, recorded at Abbey Road Studios with help from the London Symphony Orchestra) and 2020's Touch of You: The Lost Songs of Gary Stewart (a collection of nine unreleased songs written by the honky-tonk hero).

When the COVID-19 pandemic brought the Moonpies' busy schedule to a halt, Harmeier found himself back home in Austin, inspired to return to the sound that had launched his band's career. He didn't need to look far for ideas.

"I have an old, square-bodied Chevy pickup from 1985," he says. "My dad had the same one. I used to work with him as an electrician when I was younger, and I started thinking about my dad, my grandfather, and the original owner of that truck. I thought about the kids I grew up with. Everyone I know who isn't a musician is working construction. They're putting one foot in front of the other and trying to appreciate the moment they're in, while basically working 24/7, 365. A lot of people live their lives that way, and they inspired me to write a working man's story.

A working man himself, Harmeier headed to his backyard studio, where he used his free time to his advantage. He wrote. He revised. He sent ideas to his producer and bandmates, who helped mold and modify the songs from their own home studios. What emerged was a sound that split the difference between 70s southern rock and 90s country, with twin guitar leads and earthy storytelling. ‘One To Grow On’ took shape during those months of isolation—months that found all of the Moonpies collaborating remotely, remaining active even while in quarantine.

"We'd never had that kind of time on our hands before," Harmeier remembers. " I would develop the character as far as I could then send it to our producer [Adam Odor] for even more rewrites and then finally to the band for their input. They got to know the material long before we went into the studio. They got to know the album's central character, as well, and they wrote instrumental parts to convey the consciousness of that guy.

"Co-produced with longtime collaborator Odor and recorded at Yellow Dog Studios in Wimberley, Texas, ‘One To Grow On’ kicks off with "Paycheck to Paycheck," an anthem for hardscrabble living. Driven forward by fiery fretwork, breakneck tempos, and vocal harmonies from Shiny Soul Sisters' Alice Spencer and Kelley Mickwee, the song serves as a primer for what's to come—the wild west atmospherics of "Whose Side Are You On," the greasy funky-tonk of "The Vein," and everything in between. Shooter Jennings makes a pair of appearances, playing synthesizer on songslike "Social Drinkers," while former Moonpie John Carbone returns to the fold to play keyboards throughout the album. Three members of fellow Texas-based outfit Quaker City Night Hawks join the band on "Burn Out," an autobiographical country-rocker that closes 'One To Grow On' by focusing not upon the character Harmeier has created, but upon the narrator himself.

"I knew I was writing a character-driven record, but I wasn't sure who he was until we finished," says Harmeier. "He'sa bit of me, a bit of my father, and a bit of my friends. He's the Everyman. He's everyone I know, and everyone I don't know."

Born and raised in Georgia, Megan Moroney grew up in a musical household heavily influenced by legendary songwriters in classic country, southern rock, and americana. During Megan’s freshman year at the University of Georgia, an opportunity to open for an established country artist at the iconic Georgia Theatre prompted Megan to write her very first original song. From there, she developed a love for storytelling and has become known for her distinctive voice and honest, conversational lyrics. 2022 brought the singer a breakout year with the release of her debut EP, Pistol Made of Roses, followed by her single “Tennessee Orange,” which put Megan on the map as Nashville’s most compelling new artist. The colossal buzz surrounding the track prompted her to perform it on ESPN’s College GameDay, while racking up an average of 5 million streams a week and over 70 million global streams to date. Currently, “Tennessee Orange” is the #1 weekly streamed song by a solo female country artist. After opening stints on tours with Larry Fleet, Chase Matthews, Jamey Johnson, and Warren Zeiders this year, Megan is set to kick off her sold out headlining PISTOL MADE OF ROSES tour this spring. Pulling inspiration from artists such as Miranda Lambert and Kacey Musgraves, the “musical risktaker with powerhouse pipes” (CMT) and “2023 Artist to Watch” (Spotify, Pandora, Holler, The Nash News) is slated to become a household name in the years to come.
